Hi! I'm an aspiring storyboard artist. I love all things fantasy, history and story. My passion for storytelling was developed through video games, film, fiction books and tabletop RPGS. I'm looking to break into the creative industry with a focus on storyboards, Character art and writing. I love analyzing the countless ways to tell story through camera and look forward to honing my cinematography skills to evoke compelling emotions from an audience. I have a lot of growth ahead of me and I cannot wait to work in a collaborative, creative environment where I can work with others to make something spectacular and learn from those with more experience.
I transitioned into Bartending from fast food and it was my first experience serving customers. This reinforced the importance of how I present myself and treat those paying for my services. Conflict management is essential in this position as working at a pub you encounter some people who cannot control their anger. It has thickened my skin and one shift I had to calm a customer who was unable to control their anger as they had taken substances before entering the pub. I asked this person how their day was in response to them asking to fight and stalled until they could be removed from the premises safely. I believe without the experience of this and my prior job I would have allowed stress to paralyse me. I believe in tight deadlines and large workloads I can also employ this calm demeanour.
My first job was here and it taught me how to handle crunch and stressful situations. Often having to stay calm despite many orders being on screen at once. I quickly realised that focusing on what was in my control allowed me to focus on efficiency rather then allowing the stress to inhibit it. I owe a lot of calmness under pressure I feel today to this employment.
