Accomplishments

All the way from 6 years old up to being 17 I had played rugby every single week, rarely missing a training session and only missing a match due to injury or other unforeseen circumstances. During my teams “almost invincible” season I captained my team to the final of our league. Unfortunately just missing out on the cup, despite this I am still proud of how well my lads had done and how much we had overcome as a team together. This season aloud me to get noticed by a scout who recognised the potential and strength I had as a team leader. Shortly after this I had been accepted into a rugby program with some of the best players in Scotland for my age. Unfortunately circumstances change and I was unable to continue my rugby journey but I always plan on getting back into the game and seeing how far it can really take me.

Additional Information

Before the break for summer holiday in 2022 my school offered students to apply for work experience over the summer in their desired field of work. From a young boy I have always wanted to work on a mining site and lucky Scotgold Resources was offering 2 weeks of work experience in late July. I applied and fortunately got the role at the Cononish project working with ScotGold. Throughout my time with the company I learned the basics of a work day and what equipment they used and what it was used for. It is a gold and silver mine operating just a short drive from Tydrum in Perthshire, they used a variety of matches like the single boom rigs, (Load, Haul, Dumb) trucks, low profile dump trucks and a roof bolter. After my work experience with Scotgold I knew I wanted to work in the mining industry.
