1. Advanced Production Support
- Assist in planning and coordinating daily workflow for walls, trusses, and floors.
- Prioritise urgent jobs based on dispatch deadlines and builder requirements.
- Identify potential delays early and organise solutions before they affect production.
2. Blueprint & Technical Understanding
- Interpret construction drawings, truss layouts, wall details, and engineering specs.
- Clarify technical questions for builders, new staff, or machine operators.
- Spot design or measurement discrepancies before production starts to reduce rework.
3. Site & Factory Experience Utilisation
- Use on-site knowledge to ensure frames and trusses are built in the most practical way for installers.
- Assist with improving build methods so products are easier and faster to install on site.
- Provide feedback to the design team when something is not install-friendly or needs improvement.
4. Quality Control & Compliance
- Perform detailed QC checks at each stage: cutting, assembly, pressing, wrapping.
- Ensure nail plates, bracing, studs, lintels, noggings, and connections follow engineering specs.
- Approve completed frames and trusses before they move to loading.
5. Team Leadership & Mentoring
- Support the main supervisor in guiding daily operations.
- Show new workers how to read simple plans, follow measurements, and build correctly.
- Help keep the team motivated, organised, and following correct build sequences.
6. Safety & Work Environment
- Make sure all workers follow PPE and WHS guidelines.
- Monitor machine safety (saws, presses, jigs) and report any risks immediately.
- Maintain good housekeeping standards and encourage a clean, safe work area.
7. Material & Machine Coordination
- Ensure all required material (timber, plates, brackets) is ready before each job starts.
- Coordinate with saw operators to maintain constant timber flow to assembly teams.
- Assist with machine setups, basic troubleshooting, and ensuring smooth plant operation.
8. Communication & Reporting
- Update the supervisor on progress, issues, or production bottlenecks.
- Communicate with dispatch regarding job completion times and loading priorities.
- Assist in writing daily reports (production numbers, downtime, staffing updates).
9. Problem-Solving & Efficiency
- Spot inefficiencies in workflow and suggest improvements.
- Resolve small issues on the floor to prevent downtime.
- Help ensure workers follow the most efficient building methods.
