Was provided the opportunity to work alongside the site engineer and project manager on a particular project. Gained knowledge of water infrastructure and the civil construction sector. Some tasks that were completed during this experience include:

• Interpret drawings and specifications
• Administration tasks such as filling data entries and updating project records
• Assist trades onsite
• Assist with project documentation
• General housekeeping onsite
• Ensure safety protocols are followed onsite and adhered to.
• Identified and resolved project issues quickly and efficiently, minimizing their impact on project progress
• Developed and maintained detailed project documentation that enabled effective tracking of project progress and facilitated collaboration

Working alongside the building surveyor, part of the job was to visit apartment buildings around Newcastle to evaluate the conditions of rooms and make contact to the necessary contractors to organize repairs if required. To record the state and repairs of the rooms and bathrooms, spreadsheets and reports were created. More tasks that I completed as part of the building surveyor team are as follow:

• Monitored operational performance of all equipment after repairs and service
• Conducted regular safety checks to identify potential hazards and risks.
• Inspected all industry equipment to ensure proper functioning.
• Adhered to company policies regarding safety protocols and procedures.
• Respond quickly to emergency calls for services and repairs

My time spent working at J Singh Kaur farms has taught me many life lessons and allowed me to gain a more distinguished work life balance. Through working at the farm, I have learned to overcome difficulties and gained the skills of hard work and knowledge. As my role as supervisor it has compelled me to adapt positively and rapidly to issues that arise and find solutions to these problems. Some operations that were managed by the supervisor include:

• Irrigation management
• Quality control and assurance
• management of employees and disputes
• Budgeting and finance including record keeping
• Ensuring sustainable practices are employed during all operations
• Manage audit and reports
• Facilities management
• Increased farm efficiency by overseeing maintenance and repair of equipment, ensuring minimal downtime.
