Jasmine Butler

With the completion of a Certificate III in Retail as a part of my High School studies, I chose to undertake my week of Work Experience Placement with Myer. During the week, I developed the following skills.

• Greeted customers and helped with product questions, selections, and purchases.
• Assisted in setting up promotional displays to attract customer attention and boost sales.
• Enhanced store appearance and shopping experience with product displays and store cleanliness.
• In preparation for this placement, I underwent a series of assessments in workplace health and safety, hazard identification, customer service protocols, and stock management.

I commenced this position under a Traineeship, in which I have gained a Certificate II in Hospitality. I have developed confidence in the following.

• Display excellent teamwork skills while working alongside fellow team members in a fast-paced, high pressure environment.
• Independently perform opening and closing duties, ensuring the restaurant is prepared for efficient operation each day.
• Demonstrate exceptional multitasking abilities by managing multiple tasks simultaneously during peak hours without sacrificing quality of service or attention to detail.
• Utilized strong communication skills when interacting with guests, coworkers, and management to create a welcoming atmosphere for all parties involved.

Being my most recent position, I have been able to enhance the skills I have gained in my prior roles as well the knowledge I developed in the Certificate III in Retail.

• Process transactions accurately while maintaining a high level of customer service.
• Consistently meet or exceed sales goals through upselling techniques.
• Develop strong product knowledge to provide informed recommendations based on individual customer needs.
• Manage high-stress situations effectively, maintaining professionalism under pressure while resolving disputes or conflicts.
• Help customers locate products and check store system for merchandise at other sites.
