Leadership and volunteer experience

Leadership: During my student exchange to California I was fortunate enough to earn a spot on the highschool cross country team. After demonstrating strong leadership and teamwork skills, I was nominated by my peers as team captain. During this role, I organised fundraising events, led group training sessions, and fostered a strong sense of teamwork, motivation and commitment. With the help of my leadership the team qualified for state championships for the first time in several years.

Volunteering:

  • St Marys primary: Assisted teachers with classroom activities and supported students with learning tasks, contributing to an inclusive and positive environment.
  • Maryborough special school: Worked with coaches to prepare students with diverse needs for an athletics carnival. Provided encouragement and one-on-one coaching for the weeks leading up to the event. Also assisted in the set up and smooth running of events on the day.
  • Cross country team: Organised and coordinated fundraising events for needs such as team transport and group activities, demonstrating responsibility, initiative and organisational skills.
