  • Dealership - 220-250 units per month over multiple sites
  • Fostering culture - One of the most important aspects of a General Manager. I recently restructured two Dealership sites with poor culture. By identifying areas and staff who needed improvement I set about re-training existing staff, setting expectations around behaviours and developing and training new staff to align with the positive, high performance and customer focused culture we are fostering.
  • Dealership Operations - I enjoy working with all Departments and understand the value each one brings to the profitability of the business. I have very good relationships and communication with all staff, particularly Departmental Managers who are key to achieving Dealership KPIs, objectives and profitability. I understand and are proficient in both new and used car sales, finance, service and parts.
  • Strategic Planning - Businesses are constantly evolving, strategic planning is the key to maintain momentum in all departments whether it be succession planning, marketing and promotions or stock holding etc. I like to be ahead of the curve to give the business the best chance of achieving sales and customer KPIs.
  • Recruiting, Training & Mentoring - One of my favourite aspects of the role. I thrive on helping staff become better people both at work and in life. I lead through example and set standards with consistency and positive messaging. I have developed and mentored countless successful salespeople and managers who are currently in the business and throughout the automotive industry.
  • Building Relationships - I have excellent relationships with all key stakeholders of the business. It's crucial to have a strong relationship with the manufacturers as our business partners. Building relationships with any key stakeholder only helps the business with future growth.
  • Financial Performance - It's important to understand the financials of a business to determine where it's at. I understand P&L's, budgeting, planning and been involved in Deloitte Benchmark group meetings for several years aimed at making strategic decisions to improve business profitability.
  • Dealership Compliance - I have a Motor Dealers licence and am proficient in compliance and company policies.
  • Growth Opportunities - The dynamic nature of the business requires constant monitoring of market trends and competitor activities to stay ahead of the game. I am consistently adapting our marketing strategies and processes to maximise our opportunities in both sales, finance and service to achieve optimal profitability.
