Group Facilitator
Autism SA
01.2018 - 01.2020
I have been a Group Facilitator for over two years with Autism SA, being very involved in writing, developing, and delivering the content of the program paying particular attention to a person-centered approach as our participants have varied needs.
Since taking up the role I have encountered many wonderful experiences of personal growth and enjoyed the building of trusting relationships within the program.
Within my time frame of working as a group facilitator I have had the good fortune of mentoring new staff, volunteers and University students who have been placed within our program.
I have found that during these times I have displayed a strong leadership role disseminating good practices, a professional ethic and most of all enabled the process of building positive relationships within the team.
My openness, transparency and listening skills have served well in bringing unity within our team of facilitation, there have been a few occasions where I have used my initiative to objectively deal with organizational issues that have arisen with positive outcomes.
Historically I have used my teaching qualification to enable me to write bespoke content, risk assessments and individual support plans for our past and current participants which has been an asset to utilize.
I have received positive feedback in supervisions via line managers and also colleagues who have shared that they have been motivated when working alongside myself as I display a proactive approach and innovative visualization.
I am very reliable and consistent, have an extensive knowledge of working within dynamic groups promoting safe educational and non-judgmental environments which affords itself to comfortable learning and facilitation.
