• Examine surfaces to assess the type and extent of preparation and painting required
• Prepare walls and other surfaces by removing old paint and wallpaper, repairing woodwork, filling holes and cracks, and smoothing and sealing surfaces
• Select, mix, and prepare paints, varnishes, and stains to required colours and specifications
• Apply paints, varnishes, and stains using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment
• Hang wallpaper, match patterns, and trim edges accurately
• Follow drawings, plans, and work instructions to deliver high-quality finishes
• Calculate material requirements and assist with cost estimates
• Clean tools, equipment, and work areas after completion of tasks
