Since March 2022 I have worked as an Electrical and Instrumentation Technician on Yara Pilbara’s Ammonia and Ammonium Nitrate Plants. I have been responsible for safe execution of electrical and instrumentation work across all Yara Pilbara facilities including, preventive, corrective and breakdown tasks.


  • Reduced downtime through proactive preventive maintenance programs for electrical systems and instrumentation equipment.
  • Improved equipment reliability by conducting thorough inspections, identifying issues, and performing necessary repairs on electrical and instrumentation systems.

I worked as a seconded technician to the Karratha Gas Plant campaign maintenance teams. This included working in Utilities, Storage & Loading and Frontline Maintenance.


  • Responsible for efficiently executing preventive and corrective maintenance tasks across all hydrocarbon storage and ship loading facilities, power generation turbines and generators including Hitachi Frame 5 turbines and GE LM6000 gas turbines. This included Included function testing and calibration of control and safety critical instrumentation, fire & gas protection systems and electrical maintenance of generator equipment.
  • I was responsible for diagnosing and resolving electrical and instrumentation malfunctions throughout all sections of Karratha Gas Plant. I collaborated with Process Operators and Engineers to ensure the safe and efficient repair and maintenance of a wide range of process control instrumentation and electrical systems within the facility.
  • Calibrated combustion controls to meet appropriate safety & environmental standards.
  • Use of maintenance management program to access and manage work orders & notifications throughout maintenance execution (SAP).
  • I worked as as a Performing Authority (PA) on the ISSOW Permit to Work System and as a Restricted Electrical Officer (REO)/Electrical Isolation Authority.
  • Ensure compliance with all site and statutory electrical, testing and installation requirements

I was seconded to the Chevron Core maintenance team for 3 years. I was responsible for maintaining all onshore assets associated with Chevrons crude oil production facilities including production wells, processing stations and storage facilities.
