Mechanical Electrical Installations

Mostly commercial, sometimes Industrial projects. Estimated, ordered and installed cable runs for mechanical electrical installations including air handling units, split systems, dampers and variable speed drive in the field, and switchboard.

Building Automation Systems

Installing BAS for heating, ventilation and air-conditioning, this included things such as air velocity sensors, temperature sensors, CO2 sensors, differential pressure sensors, touch pad controllers, and communications circuits.

Switchboards

Working in switchboards for mechanical, ddc controls, light and power, and security installations.

Light and Power Installations

Installing lights and power for a number for commercial jobs. Estimated, ordered and installed cable runs for lighting and power circuits in the field, and switchboard.

Security Installations

Security installation for a quarantine facility. Included cameras, intercoms, card readers, reed switches for doors, roller doors and gates, mag locks and mortice locks. This included rough in, and installation of cables in the field and switchboard.

Light and Power Installations

Installed a prototype furnace for a rock plant. Included a lot of fabrication work for cable ladder, rough in and fit off of cables to supply power to furnace heaters, including an underground run. We also installed lights and GPOs on each level of the tower.

Switchboards

Installation of 3 switchboards including furnace power, supply to lights and power, power supplying hoist lift, thermocouple controls for furnace and lights / air conditioning in switchboard / control room.

Installation of Personnel & Material Hoists

Installation of various types of personnel & material hoists on a vast amount of jobs of all sizes across Victoria. This job has many complex qualities and has helped me gain and improve many very useful skills and knowledge as a rigger and worker in the construction industry, including :

• Communicating with site management
• Organising deliveries
• Loading and unloading trucks
• Transporting material and equipment by truck (HR)
• Operating forklift
• Operating truck mounted crane
• Operating EWP
• Discussing rigging methods and techniques
• Applying rigging methods and techniques
• Servicing and fault finding of machines
• Communicating with and dogging cranes
• Installing tower and bracing of hoists
• Installing gates of hoists
• Installing bridging platforms
• Working safely at heights

Yard Work

Various types of yard work including :

• Servicing and maintenance of Personnel & Materials hoists
• Organising and tidying up yard
• Picking material and equipment and loading/unloading trucks
• Operating forklift
• Servicing electrical components
• Servicing gates and other equipment
• Sorting store room

Installation of Personnel & Material Hoists:

Installation of various types of personnel & material hoists on a vast amount of jobs of all sizes across Victoria. This job is virtually the same as my previous one, but being different machines with different methods of installation and dismantling, I have gained more knowledge and experience in every aspect of the trade, including :
