Summary

I'm a people person, all my previous jobs are in hospitality industries.

I have spent most my life working around people and contributing to their day and hopefully making just a little difference here and there. Most my skills I have learned along my journey being in the cafes I have worked. I would really like to cast a wide net and work on being more stimulated with what I do in work hours. I would like to step up into the world and achieve more than making coffee and running food.

I'm never still, always wanting to learn more and do things the best way they can be done. I look forward to being in a learning roll and remapping and updating my skillset.

While working with bean and table I have been working on what I love to do most, helping customers while with us to have a full experience of being greeted with a place to sit down while enjoying a hot beverage and/or meal with a friend or loved one.

Once the customer has decided what they would like, I take their order and proceed to make and serve them what they have asked for such as beverages, cakes, pastries. Chef made meal orders go to the kitchen crew. Once made I bring it to the corresponding table number placed with the order and ask if anything else is required for the customers table. Things like water, salt, pepper, napkins etc.

Before and during close procedures ensure all machinery, tables, chairs, floors, doors, sinks etc are cleaned, sanitized and turned off before staff leave.

Before leaving make sure the security systems are checked, working and turned on.

Goboat is a tourism location known for the beautiful lake rides on canberra waters. Customers would arrive and be briefed of the rules on the boat and be shown how to use a map for directions around the lake. The customers will be given life jackets and they would be advised of any dangers like rocks and shallow waters or storm damage. I would then walk the group down to the jetty where the boats where moored. Once the customers are safely in the boat I will then begin giving them a short lesson on how to use tiller and what directions to go in. I then untie the rope and push the boat out in the water for them to set sail.

once returned safely I tie the boat off, send them on their way and then prepare for close and cleaning the boats.

I would begin shift, customers would come up to the donut viewing window and we would advise them on all the donut box bundles available and what beverages they would like with their purchase. Once I made their drinks I would take them to the table number they were given. Once the customers left we would clean and sanitize their station station ready for next use.

Guru was my first job, while working there I was trained and then my roll was training new staff members, many of the staff who I started with were going to return to their studies and schooling.

Mostly my time was spent watching others and slowly increasing my hands on approach.

The manager would teach me how to make coffee and after she was confident I could make coffee I then slowly started taking over the coffee machine and was training our new staff.

While at guru these where some skills I learnt along the way

Cashier and refund process, handling cash and card transactions and receipts.

Once a customer arrives I greet them with a welcoming experience form the moment they enter the company by providing them knowledgeable answers to questions they may have about the business or what the business supplies, making sure they have a comfortable and pleasant participation in the moments they spend within the businesses care.

The start and end of day check list such as turning lights and music on or off. Turning on or off dessert/sandwich fridge and sale systems.

Signing in before starting shift, signing out adding up total hours adding correct dates and times.

Correctly positioning tables and chairs neatly spaced, wiped down and sanitized ready for next use.

Sweeping and or vacuuming floors and under fridges, mopping and sanitizing floors.

Refilling sugar, salt and pepper sachets/shakers, restocking takeaway cups, cakes, milks as well as other items that may need a refill. Taking inventory, make a list of things that need to be purchased for restock.

Double check to be sure all ovens, toasters, coffee machines juicers are all cleaned and ready for next use.

Setting up security systems being sure all the doors are locked before leaving.

Being organized, have all equipment sanitized and placed back in their original place so this makes it easy for the next person.

Being patient with the customer no matter the issue, not all customers are happy with their experience or product it's up to me to respond positively to them in a calm and confident manner and deliver the best outcome the business model promises them. Assure them the issue is being attended to and let them know you appreciate them giving you feedback in letting you know about their negative experience. I will notify them the instance the issue is solved.
