Assistant Bar Manager

  • A trendy bar in Morningside, Auckland where I was assistant to the bar manager.
  • We held small events catering for groups of 30 to 80, these would be small functions where we would have specials cocktails on the go and catering platters from our kitchen.
  • This is a smaller bar so I mostly do solo shifts where I run the bar and floor and with my duty managers license would run a small team for our bigger events when there was a concert or sports game on at Eden Park as the bar was one of the closest to the arena.

  • I was a duty manager at Bridgman for almost a year but after I left I would still occasionally help them out as The Bridgman was a very busy restaurant and bar and would host bigger functions and nights due to the restaurant being very close to Eden Park also.
  • I have run solo shifts doing all bar and floor when we don’t have special events so I am a great all rounder, being able to multitask and keep to staff and customers happy.
  • I also helped to run private functions out of the back room at Bridgman, working closely with the owner, Chloe.

  • I was a restaurant manager and part owner of a busy restaurant in the CBD where we had an array for cocktails, coffees, smoothies and thickshakes, etc. The bar work was always fast paced and busy and I was able to keep up with the amount of challenging work as well as keep customers and staff happy.
  • I would help with the staff rosters each week, working closely to the other co-owners. As well as doing a stocktake of the bar each week and the ordering each night to insure fresh ingredients for our drinks and food menu, which was a 'Fresh food made fast type of restaurant.
  • I was highly respected and kept the restaurant running smoothly for many years, including hiring and training new staff and when we opened a second Food Truck Garage in Ponsonby Central, Auckland I was kept in the original restaurant keeping it afloat while training two new duty managers while the other two co-owners went to open the new restaurant.
  • Food Truck Garage is where I originally thrived and showed my potential in management and was given the opportunity to grow while working there for over 6 years and eventually when the original owner wanted to sell, myself and two others, Regan and Blake decided that we loved the restaurant so much hence why we decided to take over the ownership. We sold it in June 2023 as one of the owners wanted to pursue another career path and covid did take it's toll so myself and the other owner decided to let it go but that was a very hard, sad decision to make.
