Worked in FMG Solomon Mine
Pump Station 2 Process Water installation of 60 inch pipes and valves and modifications of pipes cutting and extending in a slurry pump.
Making sure reading the isometric drawing carefully, make sure you understand the take off, the northing ,elevations, and orientation and also the size of the pipe and flanges.
when you doing the preparation for joining the pipe and flange or elbows or tee's, make sure you follow the weld procedure for gaps and landing and degree bevel.
and make sure its clean or contaminant free inside-out of pipe, both lips.
As a Boilermaker I fabricate columns, frames, chutes, conveyors, tanks.
Boilermakers are task to do what's on the drawing. Read the drawing carefully make sure it is right orientation. Make sure you aware of the far side, near side, top view and bottom view.
In preparation for fit ups, if it's full penetration make sure to put bevel and gap.
And making sure all fitting are cleaned (ground) sharp edges are deburred.
As a Pipefitter make sure you understand isometric drawing, elevation, northing, and the orientation.
Cutting pipes by bandsaw, cutting disc or rotating oxy pipe cutters.
Preparations make sure pipe is the right size and specification according to pipe charts length is correct. and its ready to do the bevel and cleaning.
Fit ups make sure it has the right gap and landing and same material bullet for tacking.
And making sure it is square whether it is join to flange or elbow.
As a Boilermaker I fabricated large chutes, large frames , conveyors and I was part of making the Reclaimer, Stacker and Ship Loader and the Bucket Wheel. And I was also involved in many projects, such as Shell Offshore projects, underwater mud mats.
And after that I became a Leading Hand.
And my role is to lead the boilermakers and do the checking on job as well if they are doing the right job and making sure they are using the right materials for the job.
And making sure it is As Per Drawing so I can send it for welding.
I was also the leading of the fabrication of Elizabeth Quay Arch Bridge and the fabrication of the trusses of Optus Stadium.
There are so many projects in Civmec during my time that I was involve.
As a boilermaker I built trusses, columns, frames, chutes and tanks.
During that time there were no beam line CNC machine they just cut beam to length
we drill the holes manually and the back cuts.
First we mark the holes centre popped and mark the back cuts prior to oxy cutting even cleats are marked and take it to the cropper.
