Key Duties And Responsibilities

  • Provides competent, compassionate nursing care based on scientific principles and the use of nursing process and a primary nursing model. Performs specific functions as described in the unit Scope of Service.
  • Provides and maintains a therapeutic environment for patients and families. Assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care requirements of the allotted patients.
  • Documentation of initial assessment, nursing intervention and patient and facility education and response. Provided continuous cardiac monitoring, arrhythmia recognition, and intervention.
  • Professional courteous rapport with patient's families, coworkers, and surgeons.
  • Liaison between patient, family, surgeon, and staff to coordinate care and services. Conduct pre and post-operative teaching to patient and family members. Participate in facility compliance activities and programs.
  • Work cooperatively with other members of the team to maintain records and reach facility goals.
  • 5+ years of experience in Pre and Post Anaesthesia Care Unit. Willing to work both Pre-op and Recovery.
  • Care of pre- and post- operative patients of trauma. Organization and management of nursing care such as, Wound dressing including Vac dressing. Medication administration.
  • ET, oral and nasal suctioning to clear the airway and ensure advanced airway support. Periodic assessment of wound, haemodynamic, systemic body function (neurological, skin care, nutritional). Competent in procedures such as urinary catheter insertion, IV cannulation, wound dressing, nasogastric tube insertion.
  • Health education to patient and family members. IV preparations, administration of V fluids, care of IV sites etc.
  • Accurate documentation of vital parameters especially ECG rhythm and oxygen saturation. Providing necessary treatment such as injection, intravenous infusion, blood transfusion, dressing to patient under care. Interpreting clinical results, initiating investigations, ensuring accurate documentation and administrative records are maintained.
  • Regularly undertaking management of unit and preparing nursing care plans. Coordinating with team members of the unit to achieve the goal of the unit of reaching zero bacterial environment.
  • Provides comprehensive and high- quality care to patient with chronic kidney disease. Management of complications of CKD and education and promotion regarding life with CKD. Competent for performing CAPD and APD.
