It was previously listed on the ASX before it was taken private by Thoma Bravo in 2022. Nearmap has a portfolio of customers with a total of approximately $300m annual recurring revenue in Australia and North America.

Repsonsibilities

• Preparation of weekly sales report, monthly management reporting, including P&L variance analysis, board reporting pack and monthly reporting to budget holders
• Preparation of the annual budget and reforecasting process and long term financial planning to align with company objectives
• Partner with key stakeholders across sales, operations and marketing to drive ARR growth, cost efficiencies to improve overall business profitability
• Commercial modelling & analysis of data to illustrate trends in the customer base and within internal teams to provide actionable insights to leadership to support informed business decisions
• Design and build dashboards on Looker and analyse data to provide insights and reporting to stakeholders
• Ownership of rep compensation plans and monthly commission calculation
• Stakeholder ownership in partnering with Sales & Marketing leadership including business case development, KPI reporting and expense management
• Evaluation of business processes and discovering areas for improvement, and developing and implementing solutions
• Provide ad-hoc modelling assistance, insights and recommendations where required

• Preparation of Group Performance reports (monthly, quarterly & year-end), board papers, internal presentations and group executive presentations
• Implement financial planning tool Workday Adaptive Financial Planning including liaising with implementation team to test and validate data, reports and output
• Consolidate / model the financials for the budget, reforecast and long range plan, and conduct scenario analysis to understand the risk and opportunities
• Support the annual budgeting and quarterly reforecasting process including prepare Group reporting templates and budget timetable; consolidate Australia, New Zealand, North America, Canada & International market results; and provide commentary on Group results for presentation
• Develop improvements in reporting, including accessibility of reports and information and standardisation of reporting processes, templates, analytical tools across the Group

• Analysis and insights on strategic business issues, including: Global market intelligence / industry trends, Market size and penetration analysis, Analysis of competitive landscape, Geographic and International rollout and expansion strategy and business cases, Product & pricing analysis
• Build strong relationships through engagement with colleagues, project managers and other key stakeholders across the business

Role involves an extensive range of financial and commercial accounting duties including:

Financial Reporting & Management Accounting

• Preparation of half year and annual financial statements
• Preparation of board papers (for example AASB16 – Leases and transfer pricing paper)
• Review of balance sheet reconciliations and providing coaching and guidance to accountants
• Calculation of revenue in accordance with ‘AASB15 – Revenue’, including improving Nearmap’s process for completeness and accuracy, and reviewing significant contracts to ensure correct revenue recognition

Tax Compliance

• Review of Australian and United States tax returns
• Ad hoc tax matters including ensuring compliance with new jurisdictions (Canada and New Zealand) in th areas of GST and withholding tax

Process Improvements & System implementation:

• Create process for recording and recognising WIP assets in Netsuite, including business partnering with Engineering team
• Preparation of business case for the implementation of a Company-wide automated revenue system

JCDecaux is the largest Outdoor Advertising business globally and acquired publicly listed APN Outdoor in 2018. Combined gross revenue exceeds $500m for JCDecaux Australia and New Zealand.

Responsibilities

Management Accounting

• Commercial analysis by preparing and assessing key financial ratios on business performance (sales to EBIT; cash conversion ratio, return on capex and investment), understanding performance by sector, conduct assessment to determine over/under performing media revenue streams
• Price analysis and understanding impact of discounting, research and assessment of market performance, including competitor analysis and assessment of acquisition performance with comparison to business case
• Review and analysis of sales commission structure to provide sales team with insight of results as well as recommend changes to commission structure to optimise revenue
• Understanding the business cash flow projections and regularly assessing working capital requirements

Financial Reporting

• Preparation of financial statements for full year and half year report in accordance with accounting standards
• Completion of the month end reporting process and monthly management report issued to the board of directors
• Preparation of board report outlining the changes to IFRS 9 Financial Instruments
• Review journal entries and balance sheet recs prepared by Assistant Accountant and provide coaching

Treasury

• Management of senior debt facility and cash accounts, including drawdown and repayment requirements, monthly covenant calculations and submission of compliance certificates.

Tax Compliance

• Preparation of annual income tax return, including thin capitalisation calculation, TOFA disclosures, transfer pricing methodology and application of ACA calculation to tax cost base of assets acquired as part of business acquisition
• Review & lodge monthly BAS completed by assistant accountant and investigate significant fluctuations in GST payable for AU and NZ
• Review of company FBT returns for AU and NZ

Systems Implementation

• Led the implementation of performance remuneration system
• Successfully improved capex processes and created efficiency in accounting for fixed assets and to suit user needs for financial reporting purposes
• Performed UAT in the implementation of new accounting system (Oracle Cloud)

Audit Management

• Key contact for external auditors for year-end audit responsibilities, compliance with internal company accounting policies

• Financial accountant completing all month end and year end reporting requirements including managing both external and internal audits as well as the Company’s tax compliance obligations.
• Led the implementation of the Company’s new AP system (Acenza) to streamline local processes and improve internal controls, trained staff on new system capabilities, and designed general ledger coding classifications to ensure consistency, and to suit user needs for financial reporting purposes.
• Directed the implementation of a new Vendor Request system, ensuring compliance with global company policies, and providing training and ongoing support to staff

Succeeded in providing employment tax consulting and compliance services to a range of high-profile clients across a number of industries, including FBT, payroll tax, superannuation, employee share schemes and workers compensation.
