Accomplishments

Major Achievements in Settlement Services International since 2019.

  • With the assistance of IT, I have implemented a ticketing system for the accounting operations, which includes Payroll, Revenue Accounting team, and Financial Accounting and Accounts Payable teams. This system has modernized the way the team receive and respond to requests from the business, as the team no longer have to rely on emails. The system generates a real-time dashboard for the team and management and track the progress. Using the feedback from the dashboard, my team and I can further improve the accounting operations.
  • Developed bridging tools with an automated template to address the gap between the new system and the requirements of monthly payroll reporting.
  • Established a synchronized process between the parent company and the subsidiaries for accounting operations and payroll functions.
  • Shortened the month-end timetable from 10 to 5 working days, with improved accuracy and consistency of the results.
  • Automated the process of distributing monthly Travel Expense Reports to the business, reducing the working hours for the Financial Accountant from five hours to fifteen minutes for the whole process.
  • Set up the templates and accounting process as a requirement for AASB 16 Leases and AASB 15 Revenue with Contracts with Customers for the team to follow. The templates are maintained periodically to ensure the quality of the output.
  • Turned around the Accounts Payable team from "Not-Meeting-Expectations" to "Strong Performance" team.
  • Managed a smooth transition between two accounting systems in Aug 2020.
  • Reviewed and renewed six financial Policies and Procedures every two years.
  • Achievements in prior roles

  • Prepared the annual statutory report for all seven integrated entities of the organisation. The new model for statutory reporting is highly automated and easy to maintain and follow by the team.
  • Optimised the Cash Flow modelling which has largely reduced the processing time and made it easy for other stakeholders to read and follow.
