• Literacy - I have a keen interest in the new research involved in the Science of Reading. I have involved myself in professional reading as well as participated in the La Trobe University short course. I have completed the training with Macquarie University on MiniLit and Macqlit. I have led staff professional learning in the area of a synthetic phonics approach to teaching children to read and write. I attended the Seven Steps to Writing Success workshop twice over five years and I have led staff professional learning to implement these teaching strategies. I have been involved in leading a professional learning evening for preschool directors and staff titled “Super Start Early Educators Workshop” demonstrating our school's approach to how we teach children to read and write.
• Creative and Performing Arts - I thoroughly enjoy the performing arts and majored in Visual and Performing Arts at University. I have been a member of the school musical team, assisting in choreographing routines and liaising with parents and staff teams as well as outside parties involved in hosting the event. In 2014 I took on the role of school coordinator of the Hills Cluster Creative Arts Expo. During 2017, I took on the role of aerobics coach for the School's National Aerobics Competition.
• Church - My family and I are active members of Saint John 23rd Parish at Stanhope Gardens. We regularly attend Sunday Mass. Over the years I have been a member of the Sacramental team and also the Hospitality Team, which involved organizing parish functions, eg. Opening of the New Church, Parish Birthday, as well as serving in the canteen after Mass on the weekends.
