  • My responsibilities in this role are to oversee the daily operation of Council’s local bus service – North Burnett Transport Service
  • This includes updating and maintaining the Rezdy online booking platform, developing promotional social media content, posters/flyers, updating the North Burnett Transport Service page on Council’s website, while getting creative with custom branded promotional merchandise
  • I report monthly to Translink, consult with the Fleet team for vehicle maintenance and talk directly to patrons of the service with ticketing, booking or website related enquires and help resolve any issues a customer may have to retain their business.
  • I also process Community Grants using the SmartyGrants online portal and paper-based application forms
  • These grants include fee waivers for community events, Individual Development Grants and Business Streetscape funding
  • And aid with Community Events that are celebrational and ceremonial, and procurement for the team.

Customer Service, Library & Media Administration Office

  • I excelled in this role, being the first contact for community members entering a Council Customer Service & Library Centre and helping them solve any issues they may be experiencing, arranging the interment of a loved one or just chatting about the latest book they have read.
  • I developed well rounded knowledge of Council business and associated application forms; I received and processed applications and receipted all forms of payment and performed end of day banking procedure in accordance with Council policy
  • I processed interment applications and associated cemetery related enquiries with compassion and high diligence
  • My role required me to have a good understanding of the local laws and tourist information and I also managed the library utilsing the Aurora Montage system.
  • One day per week of this fulltime position was in the Executive Support - Media team
  • I supported the Media Officer by developing and updating content for Council’s social media outlets, website, Council local newspaper article, and when COVID hit I created Councils’ first community eNews to send out to the community every month.

Executive Support Trainee

  • Whilst completing my certificate 111 in Business administration I learnt the processes required by an Executive Support team, managing calendars, boardroom meeting preparation and general administrative support to the Mayor and CEO.
  • Media and Marketing were the responsibility of this team, giving me the opportunity to gain experience in the Council procedures needed to develop media schedules and campaigns
  • These time sensitive schedules incorporated all avenues to convey information to the community - Media Releases, Public Notices, Facebook posts, flyers, posters, and newspaper advertisements.
  • Another requirement fulfilled during this traineeship was to learn the day-to-day responsibilities and procedures of a Customer Service Officer at Council’s Customer Service and Library Centers.
