Proactive intern tutor with experience organizing group study sessions and managing educational resources. I have demonstrated success in effective communication, leadership, and adaptability in various teaching environments, bringing strong initiative and resource management skills to optimize learning outcomes and support peer development.
I organised group study sessions and managed a repository of resources. The experience not only required me to contribute knowledge, but also tested my ability to communicate complex ideas effectively. I took initiative in volunteering to become a study group leader at the beginning of the year; along with another leader, we created detailed slides for each topic, designed worksheets that helped consolidate conceptual understanding and marked weekly quizzes to reflect on our progress and potential areas for improvement. It was important to listen to my peers, and thoroughly understand their needs to create a supportive environment. I actively sought feedback from others to optimise our study session plans, ensuring that our peers effectively developed their skills through each lesson. In addition, I also reached out to our math teachers to facilitate sessions, whose guidance allowed me to refine various skills in resource management and strategic planning. I discovered the importance of being attuned to our participants' needs and communicating ideas effectively.
As a 2024 JRAHS Math Study Group Leader, I organised group study sessions and managed a repository of resources. The experience not only required me to contribute my knowledge, but also tested my ability to communicate complex ideas effectively. It was important to listen to my peers, and thoroughly understand their needs to create a supportive environment. Ultimately, this experience enhanced my confidence in both my leadership abilities, and technical communication skills.
I worked as a tutor at Elite Learning Centre where I taught maths to a class of Year 5 students preparing for the OC test. The collection of textbooks and educational materials was much larger and less familiar than those I prepared at school. However, by effectively managing time and balancing my academic studies with work opportunity, I quickly adapted a new style of teaching that proved to be more effective with my younger crowd. Ultimately, my experiences have shaped me to become more flexible with new perspectives and ideas, which should be useful in the workplace.
