Riding for the Disabled

At Riding for the Disabled, I was primarily an assistant with the horses as well as clients. This (volunteer) job involved cleaning and brushing the horses, as well as working with the clients and handling horses. I worked there for 12 months from 7am to 1pm once a week. My responsibilities and skills developed from this work includes:

  • Leading and side walking horses with children/adults of all ages on the horse
  • Assisting on fun days
  • Communicating with people of all ages with various physical/intellectual disabilities
