Jesse Ashford

• This is my current full-time job. I work from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
• Recently, I’ve put myself through TAFE to get my Cert III in Arboriculture certificate.
• I’ve learned a lot already, and I am always looking to improve.
• After I worked as a subcontractor for a while, I found a crew that I very much enjoyed, and signed up full-time.
• This is a very high-risk job and requires high levels of communication, focus, and trust in your team.
• This job is also very physically demanding and requires a lot of problem-solving.

• As a result of running this business, I have learned to be resilient and never give up.
• I’ve learned how to run a team and be open to learning something new, wherever I can.
• I’ve learned how to quote and execute jobs on my own and how to deal with difficult clientele.
• Importantly, I’ve learned how much business owners do behind the scenes.
• This gives me an understanding that many employees won’t have, as well as an unlimited amount of experience in adapting and growing strong people skills.

• Some skills I learned at this job consisted of... Fitness programming, fitness assessing, customer service, client goal setting, administration, cash handling, social media management, marketing, and confidential information handling.
• Fitness is a massive passion of mine, and I wish to be able to return to the fitness industry in the future (in about 30 years). I plan for this to be my career later on in life.

This was my first job, and these are some skills I obtained while working here.

• Communication skills with a wide range of demographics, sales, customer service, following instructions, kitchen hand/cleaning, time management/multi-tasking, barrister, and problem-solving skills.
• Maintained the cleanliness and organization of kitchen work areas.
