Led consult and construct projects and programmes, delivering client's sustainability objectives. Supported the Responsible Business (RB) team function with line management, up-skilling colleagues, interviewing, business development and representing the RB team on Mace's modern slavery (MS) board.

  • Regularly led weekly project meetings, managed teams, and resources and delegated projects or tasks to colleagues. Built and managed stakeholder relationships, including those with top clients.
  • Collaborated and supported teams to achieve sustainability and social value KPIs.
  • Completed monthly reporting for clients and presented progress at UK Parliament client meetings.
  • Developed sustainability and social value toolkits with project information, trackers, and progress dashboards to help teams work faster, smarter and achieve greater impacts.
  • Created sustainability strategies and reporting processes. Set objectives, action plans, and KPIs to deliver innovation and best practices.   • Managed several environmental planning projects which involved managing the tender process; coordinating the work of sub-consultants and colleagues; and managing project finances, including carrying out monthly WIP reviews with finance
  • Worked with private clients on development planning helping gain consent Central London Developments. Coordinated large Environmental Statements and wrote socio-economic and climate change chapters.
  • Represented LUC at national events such as a seminar - Air Quality - Implementing Practical Solutions.

Planning and Development Intern

Worked on the initial planning and development of solar parks and battery storage facilities, including site searches, site visits and gaining planning permission.

  • Identified site specific constraints, including ecological designations and local grid capcaity, using QGIS, ArcMaps, Google Earth and Land Registry.
  • Submitted grid estimates to DNO's and applied results to financial modules to estimate potential returns. Completed Pre-Application Advice Requests for two solar sites with specific ecological, noise and landscape constraints. Collated relevant local planning policies for each site.
  • Wrote Planning, Design and Access Statements for battery storage facilities.
  • Assisted with site visits and meeting the EPC contractor, as well as ecological bird surveys for solar site.
    Spent time in the legal department where I worked on the companies Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement.

Accomplishments

  • Ambition Maker - Selected as Mace ambition maker voted for in October 2022.
  • Team Build UK - A 3-day competition with 5 colleagues where we were given a brief to design and build a town centre masterplan. Presented the concept and detailed designs.
  • Modern Slavery Board Member - Represented the Responsible Team which is currently 180+ team. Co-wrote a modern slavery strategy, that I presented to MS Board which had different approaches for each engine e.g. Construct Slave-Free Alliance site assessments.
  • Modern Slavery and Ethical Sourcing Champion - Subject matter expert for the Construct team and answered colleague's queries, set the Construct strategy to address modern slavery and conducted horizon scanning.
  • EcoVadis - In 2022 I prepared the Labour & Human Rights and Ethics responses to the EcoVadis certification questions - we achieved Silver.
  • Women at Mace SteerCo - Administration support to WAM SteerCo and 3 working groups.
  • EIA Masterclass Panellist - Spoke on an external panel about "Guidance on conducting successful EIA - lessons learnt and insight from different types of developments".
