Accomplishments

  • Leading the Qld Small Cell Program 2017-Current: I championed 111 sites to completion into suburban & rural areas on Energy Qld infrastructure, Satellite deployment & rooftops, a concept that was new to Telstra and had not been done before. This involved working with unknown equipment and moving into suburban streets, which presented numerous challenges. To address these, we formed a war room, bringing together all states to work on the processes, requirements, and negotiations with power providers. One of my major accomplishments was creating a strong relationship with Energy Qld, which was crucial for the success of the program. Understanding their regulations and requirements. This collaboration helped in navigating the complexities of deploying small cells in suburban areas and addressing coverage and capacity issues in known blackspots.


  • National Site Acquisition, Environment and Design Project Manager (2017 Secondment): I stepped into this role and successfully navigated the varying requirements and issues across different states, ensuring compliance and smooth operations. This role involved understanding and adapting to unique regulatory landscapes and operational challenges in each state. As small cells were just in their beginning phase, this position highlighted the complexities of managing budgets, equipment, and third-party stakeholder involvement.
