During my placement and past casual experience of working with infants and toddlers (0–2 years) and preschoolers (3–5 years), I gained valuable insights into supporting children through their unique developmental milestones. I am committed to creating a safe and nurturing environment where children feel secure, can explore, express themselves, and build trust. My approach emphasises observing each child’s individual needs, interests, and developmental milestones to personalise interactions and activities that foster curiosity, social-emotional growth, and the development of foundational skills.
The placement experience of working with 0-2s has enriched my experience of working with younger children. That reinforced my understanding that play-based, sensory-rich experiences can promote learning through active participation and meaningful interactions. Building trusting relationships with children and their families has been key to my practice, as I believe it is essential for fostering children's sense of security, confidence, and belonging. In my practice, I have continuously refined my skills in active listening, patience, adaptability, and positive guidance, as I understand that young children are motivated to learn through encouragement, exploration, and empathetic support. My goal is to support each child's natural development and cultivate a lifelong love of learning.
