A dedicated support worker who could relate and work with many different people across my years with DHS. I enjoyed my time working in a team and individually providing support in all areas of daily living where required. From assisting with meal preparation to personal care, appointments, community activities, communication with residents and their families, documenting activities, assisting with maintaining a clean and healthy environment. I have a calm and compassionate personality and feel I am never too old to learn and adapt to different situations.
Local pizza shop owner and operator with my husband and family for seven years. Day to day running of the business for six days a week. Training and management of staff, maintaining a high standard of cleanliness following the Food Safety Standards and Occupational Health and Safety Guidelines, Customer service. Managed business budgets and accounting software. Constant evolvement throughout the years to improve the business. Built strong professional networks within the pizza industry.
Worked in several different supported accommodation houses in the local area, Starting in a permanent house with residents with high needs for physical support with all daily living such as meal preparation, laundry, personal care, maintaining a tidy, clean and hazard free environment. Later I spent about 8 years in a respite house for children which was constantly changing due to the different needs of the children staying with us. We were always trying to enhance the quality of life for each of the children, depending on their individual personalities. We were always out and about in the community and constantly evolving and changing due to different needs. Fortunately I was able to be offered the chance to complete short courses throughout my time with DHS which helped me to learn new skills along the way.
