This role requires extensive knowledge of high-level administration procedures to ensure the smooth running of day to day office operations and to support the Principal/Director.

My responsibilities include, but are not limited to:-

  • Supporting Principal through calendar management, travel coordination, correspondence drafting and meeting preparation.

I worked with Irwin Mitchell Solicitors for 8 years and was promoted from an Office Assistant to a Support Services Team Member, Conveyancing to a Legal Secretary and finally to a Conveyancing Assistant working with purchase, sale, re-mortgage, and transfer of equity matters for both private clients and corporate companies. A re-organisation of the business saw my role made redundant in 2013.

My responsibilities were wide and varied and included but were not limited to:

  • Assisting Solicitor in managing caseload, and handling straight-forward Sale files from start of transaction to end, increasing overall team productivity and timely completion of transactions.
  • Enhancing efficiency of conveyancing process by diligently managing documents and organising client files.
  • Producing legal documents using my knowledge of legal terminology and procedures and ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Preparing correspondence and professional letters by verbal dictation, copy and audio typing
  • Liaising with clients and third parties via incoming and outgoing telephone calls and emails
