I was mainly involved with design but also manufacturing.

5 years of training to be able to make a flat surface cover a 3 dimensional object.

Most of my time was spent as a contractor to Austal Ships.

There as a team of 8 workers we would manufacture and fit blankets to Defence Force vessels of the Armidale Class fleet, Pacific Class fleet and Customs and Border Protection fleet.

In between the defence contracts we would manufacture and fit blankets to high speed ferries bound for China and Europe. These would range in size up to 110 metres with 40000 horsepower carrying cars and passengers. Got a spare 120 million you could have brought it.

There where special days where you would be out on the ocean as the vessels where put through sea trials. Defence force personel even launched us out on a zodiak they use to catch people smugglers.
