Work History

Travel Consultant

Flight Centre
06.2022 - 10.2025
  • I always wanted to work in the travel industry and got my start in Flight Centre just post Covid as they were not hiring during 2020. The role is fast paced and sales heavy that requires varied knowledge on many different travel products. Flight centre encompasses all areas of travel and has provided me a base of knowledge that ranges from cruises, independent itineraries all the way to guided tours and ski packages. Alongside my work I also attained a Cert 3 in Travel.
  • Travel Consultant Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Discuss and identify clients’ travel needs, preferences, and specifications
  • Research various domestic and international destinations, accommodation, transportation, customers, etc
  • Present clients with suitable travel plans based on their budgets and requirements
  • Recommend hotels, resorts, destinations, activities, and transportation
  • Developed customized travel itineraries based on client preferences and budgets.
  • Resolved complex travel issues, ensuring seamless customer experiences.
  • Helped customers with passport and visa applications.
  • Asked open-ended questions to better ascertain client needs and determine best international travel offerings.
  • Coordinated both international and domestic travel accommodations for customers, arranging for airfare, hotel and rental car reservations.

Customer Service Representative

QBD
02.2020 - 05.2022
  • Although I learned a great deal of technical knowledge throughout my time at Telstra, I found I had a greater interest in sales than in telecommunication. As such, I sought out work in retail and got the opportunity to work at QBD. As reading is one of my passions, I was excited for this opportunity.
  • Key Duties:
  • Retail sales
  • Subscriptions and membership upselling and configuration.
  • Understanding and synthesizing explanations for a range of books to provide recommendations. This includes both recommendations for customers and weekly book reviews for display.
  • Most of the other the duties involved menial labor, restocking, cleaning etc. The work flow is similar to that of a librarian, returning books via the dewy decimal system.
  • Resolved customer inquiries through various communication channels, enhancing satisfaction and retention.
  • Collaborated with team members to streamline service processes, improving response times and efficiency.

Technical Specialist

Telstra
11.2018 - 02.2020
  • Key Duties:
  • Provided premium technical assistance to paying subscribers.
  • Dealt with escalations and customer complaints
  • Resolution of complicated and drastically variable technical faults that varied drastically.
  • My scope of technical support included:
  • ADSL, Velocity, Cable, NBN, software, phones, tablets, security cameras, Static IP's and Port Forwarding, televisions, computers, credit management, billing enquiries, assisting on site technicians and booking appointments.
  • I was up-skilled with 1 month long training sessions several times to take on additional streams thus providing support to an even broader customer base.

Shift Manager

Kingpin
08.2016 - 11.2018
  • The role began as a Guest Service Agent and then I was promoted to management. This role required the ability to create an exciting experience for guests, whilst delivering quality customer service and utilizing excellent time management skills. I would work with a team of around dozens people each shift and had to designate their roles, breaks and resolve complaints and balance the safe and close the venue each day.
  • The duties included but were not limited to;
  • Serving food and beverages
  • Overseeing Activities such as Laser tag and Bowling
  • Safety Briefings
  • Phone reception
  • Booking and managing appointments and functions.
  • This was a wondrously inclusive and exciting place to work but I am looking to branch out of hospitality.

Permanent Part Time

07.2015 - 03.2016
  • Throughout my role at Woolworths in Broome, I worked over many different departments and gained extensive knowledge of how a large customer service outlet runs and operates. I excelled quickly and this fast tracked my movement to other positions and roles.

  • Checkout operations
  • Self-service monitoring and management
  • Stock management
  • Excellent money handling skills
  • Good conflict management and problem solving
  • I left this job, due to my relocation to Townsville.

Sales Person

02.2015 - 01.2016
  • As a salesman at Dicksmith it was my role to greet each customer that walked into the store, identify their needs, and then address those needs by recommending and selling the appropriate product. The challenge of a high pressure sales environment pushed me to constantly improve my communicative skill and sales strategies and I found that a very rewarding experience.
  • My duties were:
  • Upselling attachments to each sale
  • Convincing customers to purchase warranties, insurances or sign up to payment plans
  • Reaching targets such as sales per hour, profit, daily gross and warranties
