John Raymond Stevens

Experienced Victorian registered teacher with a strong background in teaching Secondary Science and Robotics up to Year 12. Proficient in Year 11 Physics, Year 12 Biology, Year 12 Outdoor and Environmental, Y7 and 8 Mathematics, and Y7 to 12 Physical Education. Contributed to the Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority by contributing to writing the End of Year Examination for Systems Engineering, and have many years experience as an Examination Assessor.

• 2017 began construction of the new School Mountain Bike Course and Introduced the Mountain Bike club.
• Fundraised for our associated school in Timor Leste

At Haileybury:

• Introduced Bouldering (climbing) as Saturday sport, and 2014 After School Indoor Rockclimbing Club, and interschool climbing comp.
• built the Adventure Racing team over 3 years to become the Australian Schools Team Champion in the 2012 Hillary Challenge.
• Lead the Adventure Racing team to New Zealand to compete.
• Adventure and Environment club, and State Cycling championships.

For other schools:

• Introduced the 28 day Vietnam World challenge camp, ran Year 7 Peer Support camps, Introduced 8 day Cradle Mountain Tasmania Hike
• Introduced Duke of Edinburgh Award and ran associated camps, Introduced sailing and triathlon electives.
• Competed as staff in the Human Powered Vehicle race.

Competitive Rockclimbing – I am the Victorian State Masters Champion for indoor lead climbing. I have been a member of the Victorian State Climbing Team, and have competed in the 2014, 15 & 16 Australian Lead Climbing National Championships. I have been climbing outdoors for nearly 20 years.

I also sing, play guitar, mountainbike, surf and play tennis.
