  • I'm working on a Proxmox Home Server project to run various VMs including pfSense (as a router and firewall), Nextcloud, HomeAssist, and Unify Controller. It'll connect multiple LANs for users and admin, with a managed POE switch powering APs. Each LAN will run a snort IPS/IDS with community rules due to IoT devices on user WiFi. For added security, different VLANS will segregate users, IoT, guests, VMs, and network equipment. HomeAssisstant will serve as a centralized hub for smart devices, integrating Google Assistant, Alarmo, Tuya local, and Reolink camera systems while using ZigBee devices via zigbee2mqtt and Mosquitto. Additionally, planning to include a FreeNAS VM for cloud storage and potentially Plex in the future.

  • As part of the development team for Moodle Course Activity Location Analyser (CALA), I led the project's UX design and implementation. CALA is an IP log analysis tool aimed at aiding the Murdoch Academic Integrity team in swiftly identifying anomalies within students' Moodle activity logs. By comparing students' enrolled locations with their logged activity locations, it detects potential cheating instances. The tool has been successfully utilized by the Murdoch Academic Integrity team and unit coordinators to address academic misconduct cases, hosted within the Murdoch network for restricted access.
