Jonathan Sainsbury

After Finishing high/secondary school in Australia at the end of 2024, I have been offered a position at the university of Tasmania as a first year sea cadet starting from the 24th of February 2025 to the end of June in which I would then need to get sea time experience. There I will commence my studies on seaboard operations, navigation and communications as well as safety protocols necessary to handle a vessel. I have had a long adoration for ships and the sea as it has always been my goal to become a successful seaman. I have always been ambitious towards my goals as I seek to excel in everything I take part in be it miniature or large involving my studies, my musical background in saxophone and my sporting prowess in both football, boxing and athletics. In my maritime journey, I seek to be maintaining a high professional standard in whatever endeavours await me ensuring I achieve excelling results. My safety and the crews safety is the utmost important aspect to me as well as ensuring a cooperative community which completes tasks to the best of their ability. My knowledge on vessels, maritime skills, navigation and shipboard operations is something that will continually grow whilst I'm aboard as well as well as important maritime skills such as time management, discipline and punctuality which is already deeply engrained into me from my years of playing football and boxing.
