I gained hands-on experience working through a labour hire electrical company, taking on a variety of roles across multiple job sites. My placements included working with Vast Electrical on a large-scale commercial construction project, where I was involved in fit-off and general installation work. I also worked with Equans Electrical, focusing on data cabling for security camera systems in commercial environments. In addition, I contributed to several short-term assignments on smaller commercial jobs, gaining exposure to a broad range of electrical tasks. This experience helped me develop adaptability, efficiency, and a strong understanding of commercial electrical systems in fast-paced, team-oriented environments.

I have 9 months of hands-on experience as an electrician, during which I worked across a diverse range of environments, including residential and commercial maintenance, industrial factory operations, and high-safety environments such as theme park ride inspections and electrical compliance testing. This role exposed me to a broad spectrum of electrical work, from routine servicing and preventative maintenance to complex fault finding and emergency repairs.

In the industrial sector, I assisted with equipment installations, switchboard maintenance, motor testing, and troubleshooting three-phase systems. I gained experience in maintaining production line machinery and responding to electrical faults under time-sensitive conditions, ensuring minimal disruption to operations. My time in this setting taught me how to work efficiently in fast-paced environments while following strict safety protocols and standard operating procedures.

A particularly valuable aspect of my experience involved working on theme park ride inspections and testing. These tasks required a meticulous approach, with a strong emphasis on safety, documentation, and compliance with Australian electrical standards. I worked closely with senior electricians to ensure systems were safe, reliable, and fully compliant.

This experience has given me a solid foundation in electrical work, along with strong problem-solving abilities, a safety-first mindset, and the ability to adapt to new challenges. I’ve developed the confidence to work independently or within a team, and I’m committed to continually building my skills in the electrical trade.
