Jordan Nathan Hockley

• I joined Bugardi for a BHP port headland project in late 2024, and quickly progressed into a leading hand role. I am relied on to assist with planning and preparation, supervision over trade assistants, and task reporting.
• We are renovating office buildings, including a total strip-out and re-install of subfloors, walls, and ceilings, along with cabinetry and waterproofing.

I have helped develop, plan, and organize the renovation of two 150+ person camps for the mining and trucking industry in remote WA.

Carrying out major and minor formwork, repairing or replacing subflooring, vinyl planks, and timber floors.

Walls, ceilings, roof structures, their fixings, accommodation maintenance, and landscaping for services.

I also helped supervise other trades to ensure the projects stayed on track to meet tight deadlines. Working in remote areas has given me a better understanding of logistics, and the importance of organization, communication, and planning.

• I have been working on various projects as a carpenter and trade assistant for the last two years in Perth.
• Most notably, the Department of Defence renovations on Garden Island, RAAF airbase, Banksia Prison, Notre Dame University, Perth Airport, and regular sub-contracting work around the city.
• My day-to-day duties consist mainly of 2nd fix carpentry: framing, hanging doors, trims, seals, drop or kick plates, and fascia boards.
• As well as timber and metal internal wall framing and finishing, decking and flooring, and skirting, which I particularly enjoy, I also have experience installing structural beams and posts to verandahs and balconies, along with other maintenance work, such as repairing and replacing rafter tails, leveling grounds for paving, digging trenches, and demolition.

• My key roles included answering customers' questions via live chat and email.
• Monitoring payment transactions and fraud.
• Marketing research and agent training.
• As a remote position over different time zones, the success of the partnership relied on honest communication, reliability, and time management.
• Both of these roles demand good computer and literacy skills, along with great attention to detail and a problem-solving work ethic.

• Throughout my school years, into my mid-20s, I would spend summers working as a laborer across different projects and worksites.
• Here, I learned the importance of safety, how to maintain risks, avoid hazards, and practical ways to store and handle materials and tools.
• My tasks included manual handling, assisting the trades with their materials, cutting timbers to size, mixing concrete, and cleaning up the work areas.
