Working at the Opera Bar was a great learning experience.

I felt at home in the high class, fast paced environment and learnt the true value of a hard-working and efficient team.

I learnt to:

• Balance both customers and cleaning/maintaining duties around the bar
• Work long shifts while maintaining a friendly and positive atmosphere
• Serve 100s of customers a day while providing quality customer attention and efficient service practices

I was doing odd jobs including gardening, landscaping and building

I would also weekly look after a young boy with disabilities

I learnt a lot doing this like:

• How to manage different job opportunities
• The importance of a clear and communicative relationship with the employer
• Appropriately allocating resources in order to do a satisfactory job
• Being my own boss

The Waterboard Bowling club was was opportunity for me to shine.

Both the friendly local atmosphere and the self-motivated work flow really appealed to me.

At the Waterboard I was able to further my skills by:

• Focusing on my Customer service abilities
• Balancing service with gambling payouts, keeping a comfortable environment for guests, and maintaining a clean and friendly environment
• Providing a comfortable space for patrons by assisting intoxicated individuals and enforcing my RSA and RCG when necessary
