My work experience journey within Built Environment started back in 2016. I was an assistant who visits construction sites making sure all works were on schedule and within the timeframe. I was also responsible for transportation and supplies of raw materials such as cement and bricks, soil, roofing, and flooring materials i.e. tiles, grout, glues, etc.
I was spending 12 hours a day on this job including traveling between sites, clients, suppliers, etc. I decided to find a new job that would allow me to spend more time on my studies.
Starting in 2017, I worked at Polycell. I have been here for the last 7 years as the manager of the company is willing to tailor the night-shift working hours that would allow me to study full-time during the day at University, TAFE, online, etc, and, work full-time there at 4:30 pm to 12 am. Once I leave the company, they will go back to the default hours 9:30 pm to 6 am.
My workplace experiences at Polycell:
Through the years I have collected several certificates. And, an associate degree, as well as approx 120 hours of construction work experience on weekends as a carpenter assistant (2023 - 2024).
My experience in construction includes work experience as part of Construction Cert I and as a hands-on weekend trade assistant. my experiences include:
I spend most of my free time (especially on weekends) on Revit, AutoCAD, and Photoshop. I have more than 7 years of experience with them.
I would go out, and choose an empty site, and examine the close estimate of the site and surrounding topography. I use this data as a weekend hobby project on Revit and AutoCAD where I would construct a building over the weekends.
My other hobbies include architectural, wildlife, and motorsports photography, I have acquired Canon 24-70mm, prime lens, canon 70-200mm lens, 150-600mm sigma, etc. I was an official photographer at Queensland Raceway for a month.
