Chief Constables Commendation for bravery
On 27th February 2024 whilst working at Boston Police Station, Lincolnshire, UK, responded to a male armed with a large kitchen knife in the front office of the police station who was stabbing at the protective glass and making threats to kill police officers. I entered the confined area, armed only with a taser. Due to the distance between the offender and me, and the thick clothing he was wearing, the taser would have not been effective if deployed. Using communication and de-escalation techniques, I persuaded the male to drop the knife. He was then arrested.
