• Carrying out material testing both in the field and laboratory to AS and TfNSW standards.
• Preparing clear, accurate records and reports.
• Training junior technicians about test methods, specifications and material types.
• Ensure test equipment is checked, cleaned and maintained to an acceptable level, and meets
  required calibration.
• Communicating regularly and effectively with internal / external clients and on testing requirements, highlighting issues regarding faulty materials.
• Maintain works site diary of testing activities carried out, taking photographs to back up
  testing results.

Key roles and responsibilities:

• Work on operations with Level 1 earthworks supervision to AS3798 and Level 2 earthworks testing.
• Communicate with clients, providing helpful advice and solutions.
• Performing laboratory and field testing, adhering to correct test methods.
• Assist with calibrations of testing equipment.

Key roles and responsibilities:

• Working at client sites to plans and specifications undertaking materials testing to high standards of safety, quality and efficiency to the appropriate British Standards
• Undertake various in-situ and ex-situ testing techniques to soils, aggregates, fresh concrete and other construction materials in accordance with all relevant standards
• Keep adequate and proper records and drawings to satisfy the requirements of the laboratory management system and UKAS requirements
• Advising on appropriate methods of compaction to suit the characterisation of the soils
• Ensure test equipment is checked, cleaned and maintained to an acceptable level, and meets required calibration
• Adhere to current health & safety regulations, including relevant Risk Assessments and Method Statements
