Dear Hiring Manager,

I am in the process of moving to the Sunshine Coast, from Goulburn in the southern tablelands with the ambition towards better opportunities and lifestyle in which I feel QLD has to offer to myself and my family.

I am excited to apply for the role of plant operator within ——, as I am confident I would be a valuable asset in building your team. I bring a positive and enthusiastic attitude, with a proactive and easy going mindset with great communication skills.

Earthmoving, civil construction and plant operation has been a long term passion of mine and I am constantly looking to expand my skills and knowledge in each of these areas. I have a high attention to detail, and take pride in completing tasks to my best abilities with safety, reliability, time and efficiency paramount.

I am a multi skilled operator of 10+ years, primarily as a final trim excavator operator of 7 years with over 4 years GPS experience. I carry a versatile skill set inclusive of dozer, skid steer, grader, moxy, loader, pad & smooth drum roller etc. I bring with me HC truck licence with 2 years experience in truck & dog works, floating of plant/equipment aswell as water cart operations. I pride myself in the ability to work both in a team environment, or alone and I am Always happy to perform labouring duties where required and assist in what ever it takes to get the job done.

Along side my operating role, I am a driven and mechanically minded person, that plays a significant part in machine & fleet repairs/servicing. Carrying out routine services, general welding/fabrication, diagnosing and resolving of faults and issues.

Plant Operations:-


  • Excavation of site cuts, footings/piers, slab prep
  • Plan analysis and set out, working off RL's and survey pegs
  • Road/pavement works, stabilisation where required to meet compaction and density requirements prior to seal
  • Erosion, drainage and storm water controls
  • Aggregate drainage
  • Dam construction, repairs and re-lining
