Our job once they arrived too the yard was to unload and inspect vehicle for any issues and this included live testing. during the live testing we inspected bushes, transmission pressures, pump pressure and all engine data. a report was created and submitted so we could complete the work. the role included inspection of hoses, oil sampling and thorough use of the SIS2.0 program. the vehicles i worked on in the workshop where 793F/D, 794 and MT4400. once the vehicle was completed to catapillar standard we would then complete all pre delivery testing and recording of results for all new components.

I completed my apprenticeship in three and a half years, then went straight into a field service role with Penske for 18 months. Over the duration of the role, I fulfilled many different jobs including Engine changeouts, in truck engine repairs including mid-life’s and cylinder kit replacements. During this time i worked on a variety of MTU engines including 4000's, 2000's, Detroit diesel two strokes, Mercedes off highway, and Detroit on highway. Marine and Allison technician
After spending 18 months in the field service role at Penske I became the central Queensland marine and Allison fitter. This involved being on boats with values from $500,000 to $20,000,000. I had to finish all work with an extremely high attention to detail especially with cleanliness second to none. Organising most jobs including parts and payment proceedings was included in my role. It gave me a high level of customer relation skills due to dealing with the direct customer. Additionally, I looked after all Allison transmission jobs including diagnosing, major repairs and commisioning. the transmission sizes varied from 1500 to 6500.
