Work History

House Sitter

Paige Salmon, Neighbour
01.2023 - 12.2023

My sister and I House-sat for our Neighbour for a week. Other times throughout the year have been on weekends. We cared for a number of animals including Goats, Horses and Dogs at the property. The animals were fed and watered twice a day. Some of the goats had babies and one of the horses had an injured leg that required ointment and bandage changes. We stayed overnight and we were responsible for keeping an eye on the property and reporting any leaking pipes or damages that can sometimes occur on a rural property.

  • Communicated positively with children and guardians.
  • Organized and cleaned home after activities by picking up toys and straightening up play room.
  • Maintained a clean and organized environment to ensure the well-being of children under care.
  • Taught children to organize toys, wash hands, and share by leading by example.
  • Sanitized dishes, tabletops, toys, and frequently touched surfaces to prevent spreading of germs.
  • This was during the School Holidays to gain some Work Expereince.

Stable Hand

Elena Short
04.2023 - 09.2023

During the winter months I cleaned 4 Stables up to 5 afternoons per week. The horses were put in stables under lights to prevent them growing a winter coat. This allows the horses to be more presentable during the competition season.

  • I prepared Wet Food and Hay Bags for 4 Horses and made sure Water Troughs and Buckets were Clean and Full of Water.
  • I shoveled out all poo and old hay from stable floors. I put new sawdust into stables as required.
  • Monitored horse behaviour closely, promptly addressing any issues or concerns to maintain their wellbeing.

Volunteer

MEALS ON WHEELS - Voluntary
01.2020 - 01.2022

On School Holidays I assisted in the delivery of Meals to Clients. The Clients were from all Ages and Abilities. Some were Elderly and others were in Wheelchairs or Limited Mobility. It was very rewarding to see them smile and appreciate their meal being delivered. They enjoyed the visit and seeing a younger person being involved in the Community.
