I am a young local teenager looking to start my working career. I am looking for a supportive work environment that will allow me to learn new skills and to help me improve my communication with different types of people.
My sister and I House-sat for our Neighbour for a week. Other times throughout the year have been on weekends. We cared for a number of animals including Goats, Horses and Dogs at the property. The animals were fed and watered twice a day. Some of the goats had babies and one of the horses had an injured leg that required ointment and bandage changes. We stayed overnight and we were responsible for keeping an eye on the property and reporting any leaking pipes or damages that can sometimes occur on a rural property.
During the winter months I cleaned 4 Stables up to 5 afternoons per week. The horses were put in stables under lights to prevent them growing a winter coat. This allows the horses to be more presentable during the competition season.
On School Holidays I assisted in the delivery of Meals to Clients. The Clients were from all Ages and Abilities. Some were Elderly and others were in Wheelchairs or Limited Mobility. It was very rewarding to see them smile and appreciate their meal being delivered. They enjoyed the visit and seeing a younger person being involved in the Community.
These are the things I enjoy the most.
