During my time at EY I was engaged on multiple projects for both development and architectural roles and moving on track towards development lead responsibilities. The projects I worked on gained me a wealth of experience across multiple industries including food and beverage, banking, health insurance, state government and healthcare sectors.

Development responsibilities included:

• Development of web applications leveraging frameworks and technologies such as React, Vue, Django, GraphQL and Dynamics CRM.
• Designing and maintaining streamlined, reusable and reliable code for use within distributed cloud environments.
• Documenting technical workflows and project or domain specific knowledge in private wiki for education of newly onboarded team members.
• Authoring development processes and guidelines to expedite application design, development and deployment efforts.

Architecture responsibilities included:

• Gathering and defining customer requirements to develop clear specifications for project plans.
• Collaboration on stages of systems development lifecycle from requirement gathering to production releases alongside primary stakeholders and third party vendors.
• Communicating software architecture strategies to senior leadership and third-party business leaders.
• Creating visual representations of software architecture and business process designs for presentation to stakeholders.
• Assisting in development of architecture strategy to specifically align with employer business goals.
• Current state technical assessments to identify opportunities for business to improve or make a transition into the digital space.

An analytical technology firm focused in the healthcare sector approached RMIT to engage students on paid scholarship project. I was part of a team of six building a commerce based web application solution for the pharmaceutical space.

Responsibilities included:

• Developing a full stack application in Laravel (PHP) with integration into existing data collection processes.
• Design and development of web interfaces to be used by new and existing clients.
• Setup and management of hosting services, cloud deployment and domain name services.
• Integration with payment platform Stripe to enable PCI compliant transactions on launch.
• Setting up automated sales algorithms to highlight available opportunities.

Brough on for an internship through the ACS (Australian Computing Society), working as a junior developer in the digital / Interactive Experience team of IBM. This role offered me my first look into consulting and enabled me to work on client solutions across the airline, car insurance, fashion and energy industries.

Responsibilities included:

• Backend and REST API management for internal tools.
• React / Angular web application development for client solutions and custom internal testing interfaces.
• IOS development of in house application used in the airline industry leveraging multi device pairing features.
• Android development for applications used by energy company staff to access their intranet and announcement portal.
• NodeRED based API solution for internal tooling and client solutions.
• Natural Language Processing integration through IBM Watson for a customer facing chat bot service.

Subcontracted as a web developer to build a website for an accommodation and equestrian establishment. As my first role without a team it gave me the opportunity to learn consumer level work outside of university and was the stepping stone into framework based web development.

Responsibilities included:

• Standard website development with interactivity based on provided designs and brand guidelines.
• Setting up management and partial back-end services through WordPress via plugins and custom code.
• Website prototyping for feedback and responsive design for compatibility with mobile devices.
