Passionate and diversely trained early-career academician with a track record of >70 peer-reviewed scientific publications and has an interest in research-commercialisation for projects in data sciences.
Research: My research studies the use of statistical models applied to large-scale genetic and biobank data to help us understand what causes diseases such as cancers in diverse populations. I was recently awarded the Australian NHMRC Investigator grant EL1 ($650,000) for 2023-2027.
Commercialisation: Apart from academic research, I also co-lead the establishment of a biobank analytics project in Malaysia. Currently, I am the principal lead and co-founder for a e-cohort and clinical trial recruitment SaaS platform commercialisation project (QIMR) in Australia.

• QIMRB Research Support Package 2023: competitive $125,000 AUD awarded with 1 fully supported PhD studentship
• Australian NHMRC Investigator grant (EL1) 2022 : competitive $650,000 AUD awarded
• Australian NHMRC project grant 2017*: competitive $392,638 AUD awarded to Prof. Stuart MacGregor in 2017.
* Jue Sheng Ong was involved in drafting and provided critical feedback on the proposal. Ong delivered 8 publications as first author for projects supported by this grant.

To support the establishment and development of MVP for research commercialization project, QTrialBank, aimed at delivering data-driven solutions for more efficient and economic trial recruitment strategies through the use of cloud computing services.
