  • I used my strong problem-solving skills to address any challenging situations with empathy and professionalism, including helping him manage his financial affairs.
  • I received consistent positive feedback from his family for exceptional care delivery. His family lived in the country and rarely visited.
  • I remained alert to his health issues and arranged regular check-ups with his GP and managed his medication when needed.
  • He enjoyed the odd trip to the shopping centre and sometimes just a ride in the car to get him out of the house.
  • He had a weekly cleaner and a personal carer occasionally. He looked after his own meals.
  • I miss him very much.

  • I became her live-in full time carer in 2007 when she became unwell with Diabetes and Bladder Cancer

  • She liked on-line shopping, so I would help facilitate this. She also enjoyed buying off Marketplace, so there would often be a trip to pick her latest purchase up.
  • She like going out for coffee and lunch and to see the family.
  • She largely required emotional support and companionship, we both enjoyed a good laugh.
  • She had three pet cats, one of which is still alive and well at 16 yo.
  • Palliative Care support.

Summary

Hi ! My name is Jo and I am a dedicated Mental Health/Aged Support Worker with a proven track record of providing genuine care and support for people with a mental illness and our precious elderly people. I have a big heart with lots of kindness, care, support and understanding to give. I have a strong desire to make people feel special, reassured, safe and to make them laugh and smile and like to go the extra mile. I am a good communicator and can provide my client with advocacy and assistance with personal finances; bills, budgeting, appointments, dealing with Govt departments. I have experience with medications and complex health needs. I have my own clean vehicle, fully insured, a clean driving record and no accidents - I love to drive, so get your road-trip snacks ready. I love animals and have an adorable 16 yo feline grand dame, she knows it too! In my spare time I enjoy writing for psychiatrists and endocrinologists (Diabetes). I also enjoy a shopping trip, I'm also known to grab bargains online or on Marketplace.
