  • As Manager and Acting Director, I successfully managed a team which provided governance advice and support to over 50 statutory agencies in the Health Minister’s portfolio. I prepared Cabinet submissions for significant appointments to meet tight deadlines and gave timely advice to the Director-General and Office of the Minister for Health and Minister for Ambulance Services on confidential and sensitive issues relating to statutory office holders. I prepared a departmental submission to a parliamentary committee inquiry into the Office of the Health Ombudsman which was approved for submission by the then Director-General. I led a review of the organisational structure of hospital foundations in Queensland. I was also seconded to the Public Service Commission and worked on a review of the Mental Health Commission.

  • I successfully managed the Transition Care Program (TCP) on a statewide basis, including allocation of budgets, monitoring performance against key performance measures and reporting at a statewide level. I drafted a Queensland Health Palliative Care Strategy which was endorsed by the Director-General and submitted to the Minister for Health for approval. I represented Queensland Health on the national Transition Care working group, and the national Subacute Care Working Group (on the implementation of two National Partnership Agreements relating to subacute care).
