  • Led progress (risk) reporting for WA reporting on the Royal Commission into Violence, Abuse, Neglect and Exploitation of People with Disability (Disability Royal Commission) recommendations to inform the Disability Reform Steering Group as oversight body and Disability Minister accordingly.
  • Coordinated progress (public facing) reporting for national reporting on Disability Reform Ministerial Council-led and Other Ministerial Council-led Disability Royal Commission (DRC) recommendations.
  • Provided strategic advice to WA agencies and internal divisions on national and WA reporting components for the DRC.
  • Maintained positive and effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Researched and prepared high-level reports, briefing notes, speeches, event packages, draft correspondence and other written materials relevant to the outputs of Disability Division and for a wider audience including Parliament, Ministers, the Director General (DG) and Deputy Director General (DDG).
  • Provided key input into Cabinet Comments related to the DRC accordingly.
  • Co-developed a WA Monitoring and Reporting Framework, in alignment with the National Framework, to guide WA input into progress reporting for the DRC.
  • Led accessibility works of key materials including contracting arrangements and quotes with relevant organisations in preparation for release of the WA DRC Implementation Roadmap (the Roadmap).
  • Worked in conjunction with external consulting companies on implementation phasing, planning, governance structure and mapping of stakeholder engagement in relation to the Roadmap for WA Cabinet approval.
  • Drafted minutes and captured action items for the DRC Implementation and Disability Division Working Groups as required.
  • Engaged with states and territories to determine agreed approaches to joint-based DRC recommendations and advocacy for Commonwealth-led recommendations.
  • Co-developed and finalised key communication items (e.g., notification emails to stakeholders, website materials, key messages and protocols, FAQs, media statements, Minister's questions ands answers, ministerial statements and Minister's video messages for DDG and Minister's Office approval prior to public release as part of the WA Response and Roadmap packages.
  • Other tasks included: developing a preliminary stakeholder analysis for the DRC recommendations, leading DG and Communities Leadership Team briefings on Communities-led divisional allocated recommendations for endorsement and leading program workstream project planning on health and safeguarding-based DRC recommendations.


Authorisation of Restrictive Practices (ARP)

  • Finalised Policy Framework Paper 3 (Policy Paper 3) as part of the proposed authorisation model for restrictive practices in WA.
  • Engaged with Behaviour Support and Legal and Business Services teams in refinement of Policy Paper 3 to inform drafting instructions for restrictive practices-based legislation in WA.
  • Undertook cost modelling, drafted ministerial correspondence on authorisation model updates and next steps, drafted contentious issue briefing notes, back pocket (dot point) materials for Budget Estimates and other correspondence namely, Parliamentary items on restrictive practices legislation for WA.
  • Organised meeting papers and captured minutes and action items for ARP Board meetings as required.

Strategy and Partnerships Division


Seniors, Ageing and Elder Abuse

  • Performed complex research, analysis and evaluation of policy as related to the WA Seniors Strategy (the Strategy) and First Five Year Action Plan (Action Plan).
  • Collated postcard survey responses/public feedback from WA seniors to inform drafting of both the Strategy and Action Plan.
