Work History

One-Arm Adaptive Rowing Device – SOS Alert System

UTAS-In-Campus Engineering Collaboration Project
03.2022 - 06.2022
  • Collaborated with the mechanical engineering team to develop an adaptive rowing device for individuals with single-arm mobility. Worked with fellow electronics engineering students to implement a complete solution integrating mechanical structure and electronic safety mechanisms.
  • Designed the digital circuit using logic components to emit LED signals in Morse code format.
  • Created and tested a custom PCB circuit with low-power design considerations.
  • Practiced embedded system design, digital logic implementation, and real-world constraint management.
Strengthened cross-disciplinary communication skills through close coordination with structural designers.

Inclined I-Beam Payload Vehicle

UTAS-In-Campus Engineering Project
07.2022 - 10.2022
  • Collaborated with project teammates to design a self-propelled vehicle capable of carrying heavy loads on an inclined I-beam track. Together, we developed a complete prototype that prioritized load capacity, stability, and operational speed.
  • Took responsibility for developing the motion control system, including PCB design and microcontroller programming.
  • Modeled the circuit layout, selected components, and assembled the control board.
  • Programmed acceleration management and safety logic to maintain consistent operation under slope conditions.
  • Applied knowledge of digital systems, motor control, and real-world hardware integration.

Single-Cycle CPU Design and Deployment on FPGA

UTAS-In-Campus Engineering Project
03.2024 - 06.2024
  • Worked with team members to design and implement a functional single-cycle CPU on an FPGA development board. Together, we successfully deployed the datapath using Verilog and validated multiple instruction types through hardware testing, such as `addi`, `bne`, and `jal` ensuring correct signal flow within the datapath.
  • Conducted timing analysis to evaluate critical path delays and optimize CPU performance.
  • Used Vivado to synthesize, simulate, and program the design onto a Digilent Basys 3 development board.
  • Applied theoretical knowledge of processor architecture to real hardware deployment.

Honours Project – Automated NICU Care Detection

UTAS-School of Engineering (Honours Research)
03.2024 - 05.2025
  • Conducted an individual honours research project under academic supervision, aiming to develop an image-processing-based system for identifying caregiving periods in NICU video recordings of preterm infants. Collaborated closely with my supervisor and incorporated clinically annotated datasets into system validation.
Developed a motion analysis pipeline using the Lucas–Kanade optical flow method to distinguish care vs non-care activity.
  • Designed and tested ROI strategies and implemented threshold-based classification logic to evaluate performance across multiple clinical videos.
  • Achieved strong F1 scores and visualized ROC curves, verifying algorithm robustness on selected full-length videos from the dataset.
  • Integrated signal processing, MATLAB-based prototyping, and clinical data interpretation throughout the project.

Intern

Shenyang Top Measurement and Control Technology
07.2022 - 10.2023
  • Supported staff members in their daily tasks, reducing workload burden and allowing for increased focus on higher-priority assignments.
  • Gained valuable experience working within a specific industry, applying learned concepts directly into relevant work situations.
  • Sorted and organized files, spreadsheets, and reports.
  • Gained hands-on experience in various software programs, increasing proficiency and expanding technical skill set.
