Starting at SSR has enabled me to further my experience with driving freight trains and has given me more opportunities for more qualifications, such as TLIF3091 Apply Awareness of Dangerous Goods and Hazardous Materials Requirements. C class Locomotives, BRM Locomotives, 442 Locomotives, G class Locomotives, route knowledge to Port Botany and being able to shunt trains into the ports, in the future I am looking forward to more route knowledge.

  • I Completed Pacific National Engine and Air School in December 2022 and was assigned to a mentor driver for the time since then, on March the 4th 2024 I started my driver trial that went for 4 days which I passed so I am now a qualified Level 4 locomotives driver with the ability to drive trains between Clyde yard and Cooks River cement siding, also shunt in Clyde, Enfield, Chullora yards and take trains to Swift container logistics centre. I can perform safety critical tasks in a high risk environment with confidence, I am still on the West roster to as far as Orange with my mentor driver which allows me to continue to develop and improve my train handling, Route knowledge in the Sydney Trains, UGL, and ARTC networks with adhesion to safe working requirements, speed restrictions, TOC requirements and the ability to work well in a small team environment.

  • Qualified and experienced in Terminal Operations, developed a skillset for shunting, communication, Roll-By inspections, Full Train Inspections, General Mechanical Inspections, minor repairs, Organization of a large busy yard.
