    National Youth Leadership Program | Australian Multicultural Foundation (AMF) - Osman Goreli (0410 250 239)

  • 10 people from each state and territory were selected to participate in this initiative which aimed to empower resilience, capacity and confidence of young people, especially young Muslims and those at risk of marginalization or social exclusion across Australia.
  • To foster social cohesion throughout various communities, a 5 minute social media video was created to address certain aspects of Islam that often have negative connotations associated to them or are misunderstood by the wider community including halal food, dress code and why Muslims pray 5 times a day.
  • This project was published into the Turkish News Press on 14 July 2020, followed by a virtual national graduation event, organized by the AMF in partnership with the Museum of Australian Democracy on the 18th of August 2020.
  • Community Service at the Auburn Gallipoli Mosque - Osman Goreli (0410 250 239)

  • Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, I expressed my voluntary assistance to the Auburn Gallipoli Mosque by:
  • Providing support in guiding worshippers to their respective cleansing and prayer rooms while strictly adhering to all the mandated COVID-19 restrictions and safety measures.
  • Due to the restriction of places of worship not exceeding more than 100 people at a time, my colleagues and I implemented a systematic approach to manage the entry of worshippers into the venue. This involved the strict enforcement of queues or lines for individuals and effective communicative strategies to regulate the flow of worshippers.
