As a motivated and adaptable Exercise Scientist with hands-on experience in both strength and conditioning and rehabilitation, I’ve had the privilege of working with athletes across various levels. My time at Box Hill Senior Secondary College allowed me to develop tailored programs for youth basketball athletes, where I applied data-driven methods, like velocity-based training (VBT) to enhance performance. In addition, my experience at Kieser deepened my understanding of rehabilitation, where I learned to adapt training methods to individual needs, managing complex conditions like ACL injuries and osteoarthritis. Throughout these placements, I’ve benefited from strong mentorship, which has been invaluable in helping me refine my approach and build confidence in my ability to adapt and respond to the unique needs of both athletes and clients.
During this placement, I gained valuable experience in delivering tailored strength and conditioning programs for elite youth basketball athletes. I learned to apply data-driven training methods, including velocity-based training (VBT). Collaborating closely with coaches and staff, I gained insights into integrating performance data into training interventions and adapting programs to meet the evolving needs of athletes in high-performance environments.
This placement provided me with hands-on experience in managing complex cases, applying theoretical knowledge in real-world settings, and utilizing a client-centered approach to improve strength, mobility, and overall well-being. My ability to adapt training methods to individual capabilities, manage multiple conditions simultaneously, and track recovery progress allowed me to deliver targeted, effective rehabilitation.
